Today there are no Roman or Assyrian soldiers running around. But there are warriors or soldiers in existence, just in different form, like the Army, the Marines etc. The point is that the apostles and prophet spoke of a battle, a conflict between the Messiah and Satan, and our involvement in this controversy. We art on a battle field, as Paul stated, "Put on the whole armor of Elohim, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:11, 12. Today this controversy or conflict in modern comparison could be likened unto a football game. If you make a mistake, you still might be able to win the game. But, if you keep on making the same mistake, there is no doubt of losing. Who knows how costly a mistake could be? The worlds in space are in the grand stands, waiting to watch the outcome. Who would enter a football game and play without his helmet? Or, shoulder-pads? None would, knowing that they would be hammered and brutalized. Thus it is today, some thinking that their own righteousness will protect them. But they will find out the hard way, when it gets broken by a crushing blow. In Isaiah 59:17 we learn that Messiah's righteousness is likened unto a breastplate, or in modem terms, shoulder pads, or as policeman might wear, a bullet proof vest. In other words we must put on Messiah's righteousness, or His armour. There is also cheap plastic helmets which Christians wear today. These cheap plastic helmets cause them to fool everyone that they are ready for the battle. Some think they don't even need a helmet!
The Hebrew word for "Salvation" is "yeshua" same as Joshua is called in Neherniah 8:17, short for "Yehoshua" I Chr. 7:27, and originally Yahushua, meaning YAHUWAH's Salvation "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 Taking the Messiah's name on our head is likened unto a helmet. it is spiritual protection from many a crushing blow, and one of the most hard hitting offensive and defensive weapons in the game. Why would you want ~ be without your helmet? Thy name is as oil poured forth, therefore do the (wise) virgins love ya. Song of Solomon 1:3
