Half Beards - Stay out of Jerusalem!

    Remember the story how David sent messengers to Hanun to comfort Hanun and show kindness because of his fathers death?  And how his servants thought they were spies and shaved off half their beards, and cut off half their garments to the middle, and  sent them away?

     "When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return." II Samuel 10:5

    Paul stated that: "Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope." Romans 15:4

    Paul stated further: "All these things happened unto them for types: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."  I Cor 10:11, 12

    David was a type of YAHUWAH, the King of Jerusalem.

    It was a shame for the men to come into the holy ground with half beards.  Like-wise here in the last days, in case you have wondered why things have tarried.

    Stay out of Jerusalem until your beards be grown was the kings decree.

    Today many of Elohim's professed people have not heeded the Scriptural command; "neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard." Leviticus 18:27

     In case you were wondering what this means, comparing Scripture with Scripture we shall grasp the meaning.  A related text: "They shall not make baldness upon their head (this rules out tonsure), neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard." Leviticus 21:5.  In other words "mar" means "shave".

     The text didn't say you couldn't  "trim", but not to "shave" or destroy your beard.

    YAHUWAH Elohim created man in His own image, after His own likeness, "not only in character, but in form and feature." Great Controversy p. 645

    Focus in on the word  "feature", the beard is one of those features.  We know the Father in heaven has, because Scripture states, that the Son is  "the express image of His person." Hebrews 1:3.  We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

    Men that wear beards are making a statement, actually several statements.

   1) They are made in the image of Elohim!

   2)  They believe in Creation, not evolution.

   3)  They wish to look like their example YAHUSHUA the Messiah.

   4)  They wish not to be mistaken for a woman, child or sodomite.

    But today there is this  "half-beard" problem, of shaving the sides, leaving a goatee.  Or, shaving around the mouth leaving big side burns.  Or, leaving hair on the upper lip only.  What saith the king?  Stay out of Jerusalem till your beards be grown!

 The Saviour YAHUSHUA prayed earnestly for unity in John 17, we should seek this unity.  "Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's, beard." Psalm 133:1, 2

     No beard!  No unity!   Be like YAHUSHUA wear a beard!
